Scam artists are fairly rare within the air
conditioning industry and tend to be focused on
fly-by-night operations. However, it is always a
good idea for consumers to take precautions.

Look for established companies |
 |
Trust the recommendations of friends. |
 |
Look for company trucks that aren’t falling
apart. |
 |
Ask for fixed prices before work begins not
open-ended quotes. |
 |
Don’t select a company at random from the
yellow pages. |
To help identify competent and qualified
contractors, contact the
Nevada State Contractors Board.
Don’t fall into the trap of hiring a company
that is able to offer a cheaper price because
they operate without a license, and/or don’t
‘pull’ required permits, or don’t carry adequate
insurance.
If you take these precautions, you will have
peace of mind knowing that you are not dealing
with a “fly-by-night” company that can “hang you
out to dry”.
